Sekolah Perkumpulan Mandiri's High School students compete in New York and make Indonesia proud! Seven of our high school students recently participated in the WIMUN (World Federation United Nations Association International Model United Nations) and they well and truly unleashed their potential. 

 

Debating against over 2000 participants and schools worldwide SPM was awarded the “Best Small Delegation Award” by the President of the UN General Assembly, Her Excellency Maria Fernanda Espinosa. Moreover, individually our students also won the Diplomacy Award and the Best Position Paper.

 

Our students were also invited to attend brunch with the Permanent Mission of The Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations in New York in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

 

The WIMUN Conference is different from the other MUN conferences that we have participated in that it gives the most accurate simulation of the United Nations in the world. 

 

Our students had the opportunity to immerse in a realistic UN diplomacy experience and brought home sharpened skills, and of course achievements that we all are so proud of.
